EMAA (Ethylene-Methacrylic Acid) copolymer offers excellent adhesion, transparency and impact resistance. The ionomer form (SURLYN) is used in golf balls and premium packaging.
Description
EMAA is a random copolymer of ethylene and methacrylic acid. When neutralised with metal ions (Na, Zn), it forms ionomers (Surlyn®) with outstanding toughness, clarity and oil resistance. Used in premium packaging, sporting goods and safety glazing.
Applications
EMAA is used in golf balls, packaging films, safety glass interlayers, perfume caps and specialty coatings.
