EVOH (Ethylene-Vinyl Alcohol) is the best commercially available gas barrier resin, providing excellent oxygen, aroma and solvent barrier in multi-layer flexible and rigid packaging.
Description
EVOH is produced by saponification of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers. The hydroxyl groups provide outstanding gas barrier properties. Used in multi-layer structures (coextrusion or lamination) between tie layers for food, pharmaceutical and fuel applications.
Applications
EVOH is used in food packaging (MAP), pharmaceutical blisters, fuel tanks, agricultural films and pipes for underfloor heating.
