PA12 (Polyamide 12, Nylon 12) is a semi-crystalline engineering thermoplastic with the lowest water absorption among all aliphatic polyamides, excellent chemical resistance and good flexibility.
Description
PA12 is produced by ring-opening polymerisation of laurolactam. Its long methylene chain (12 CH₂ groups) results in low water uptake (<0.25%), high flexibility, excellent resistance to fuels and hydraulic fluids, and outstanding low-temperature impact. Available as powder for SLS 3D printing and granules for injection/extrusion.
Applications
PA12 is used in automotive fuel lines, pneumatic tubing, flexible cables, SLS powder (3D printing), medical devices and powder coatings.
