XLPE
Cross-Linked Polyethylene
XLPE (Cross-Linked Polyethylene) is polyethylene that has undergone crosslinking to achieve significantly improved thermal resistance, mechanical properties and chemical resistance.
Product name: XLPE (Cross-Linked Polyethylene)
Description
XLPE is produced by peroxide, silane or radiation crosslinking of LDPE or HDPE. Crosslinking creates a 3D network that prevents flow at elevated temperatures, improving thermal class (90°C–150°C) and environmental stress crack resistance. Widely used as cable insulation and pipe material.
Applications
XLPE is used in high-voltage cable insulation, automotive wire, heating pipes (PEX), heat-shrink tubing and industrial insulation.
